Life is full of promises, we hear them from the words that are carried in everyday life. Words carry a lot of promises, but it is through our actions that we bring them into reality.
This is what it means when we say actions speak louder than words. What are we saying and what are we doing, are we making a conscious effort to not just think but to do.
I sat with this and for me it all amounted to taking responsibility, accountability and having the courage to start doing. It’s in the doing that we see change taking place. In order for me to do I had to look at my motivation and purpose for wanting to take action. I look at my intention, my values and needs in order to drive this into action and ask how does this serve me and benefit others around me. It’s a great place to be when we notice if there is an alignment between what we say and what we do.
I have been very aware being a visionary of talking about my ideas and what it takes to put the idea into a reality. Too often I have experienced people who talk about their dreams and aspirations, or that they would like to make changes in their lives but instead self- sabotage by not taking action. The Nike slogan “Just Do It” is all about keeping it simple, not overthinking about it, accepting that it may be uncomfortable but making a decision anyway to take action.
The more we align our words with our actions, the clearer we are at being true to ourselves and making it a reality.
